The Committee consists of one chairman and eight
members with one permanent member - Members,
including the chairman, shall be nominated by
the Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Energy
and appointed by the President
There are five expert commissions that consist
of 42 members. - The Chairman of the Committee
shall appoint the Members.
The secretariat consists of one bureau and
five divisions.

Plans and oversees
the management of the industry restructuring;
supports the management of the Committee
and expert commissions; promotes international
cooperation
Market Management Division

Analyzes and monitors
market trends; designs blueprints for
pool market transformations; oversees
operation of the electricity market
Oversees management
of power systems to ensure sustainable
and reliable supply of electricity;
involved in the settlements of prices
and terms of use for electrical transmission
and distribution facilities.
Consumer Protection
Division :
Regulates electricity
tariff orders and approves tariff rates;
investigates and mediates disputes involving
consumers
Competition Planning
Division :
Plans and implements
privatization plans for subsidiaries
of KEPCO (such as GenCos and Korea Power
Plants Service Co.); deals with labor
union issues
